Utilities Construction:

Other: As a home owner on old 37 N whose property’s easement is being used for the new line, I have some questions. The work has torn up an existing asphalt sidewalk that runs from marlin to the first house on Old 37 N along with a retaining wall in front of my house, my property sits down form the road. What are the plans come spring for this muddy mess? Is the community getting it’s sidewalk back? What of my wall? Sincerely, William Murnahan 4292 N. Old SR 37 Bloomington, IN 47408 812-332-8220

The County did not require spotty sections of asphalt sidewalk. The County indicated they will be putting in a new sidewalk in this location. The wall that was already in disrepair is in the County R/W and they are determining whether anything needs to be done.

Visited site to check wall. It is not clear whether any damage was done by the utility contractor. I will follow up with property owner. Regarding the asphalt path, the Gas Company tore up a good portion of the deteriorated path with their new main installation a few years ago. I discussed this with the County earlier this week and they informed me they did not require the Gas Company to replace the path as it was not ADA compliant and they will not require CBU replace it.
