Unsafe Buildings:

Other: I'm not sure which topic to put this under but "Hazards" seems appropriate given the current situation.  Our Homeowners Association and property manager are having trouble keeping things under control during this pandemic.  There have been resignations and no one seems to be in charge.  Landscapers are seen milling about the buildings and grounds without notice or regard to social distancing, let along wearing any PPEs such as face masks.  We understand more contractors are on the way, too, and there may be instances of price gauging.  Neighbors in this tightly-packed community are understandably concerned for their health and safety.  Help/advice is needed.  Thank you.

Most tickets of this type should be closed within 9 days, although some cases may be longer. 0 days have already passed.

Hi, Kriste. Specific to HOA management, there is little we can do since that is essentially a private entity. I do know if there are concerns regarding large groups gathering in potential violation of the State executive order that residents have been prompted to contact police's non-emergency number. If you want ideas of how your neighborhood might be able to come together during this stressful time, I'd suggest you reach out to our Neighborhoods program manager Angela Van Rooy at angela.vanrooy@bloomington.in.gov. I can't tell exactly what assistance you are seeking, but you are welcome to call the HAND main line at 812.349.3420 to chat more with staff. You can also contact the State Attorney General's office if you have price gouging concerns, as that entity can enforce the Deceptive Consumers Sales Act.
