I listed this in the ongoing list of people to reach out to when the new Traffic Calming policy goes into effect, and provided my information for follow-up. I will alert the Park Ridge Neighborhood when the request for proposals opens in January 2021.

Hi Neil, Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I've received many reports from residents on the status of speed noncompliance in the areas surrounding Park Ridge Neighborhood. While there isn't much I can do in the immediate future- we will hopefully have a new Traffic Calming policy soon which will be open to prospective projects in January 2021. This means that the now onerous process of requesting and attaining Traffic Calming devices (ie. speed cushions) will run on a yearly cycle (much like a grant) where each application is evaluated based upon a set rubric. I know this likely isn't the answer with the immediacy that you would like, and I regret that I can't do more at the outset (other than informing you that you can always report the speed noncompliance to the BPD, for what it's worth).. But I do believe that given how onerous the old process is, that it is in our best interest to wait until we have a better policy/program and go forth from there. In the meantime, if you have any questions or would like to be notified when the request for projects opens- please feel free to email me at rickbeilm@bloomington.in.gov and I would be happy to help you however I can.
Kind regards,
Mallory
