City of Bloomington, Indiana

closed: Resolved #173298

Parks & Rec Buildings:

Other: Is Indiana Red Basketball affiliated with the City? The Coach, Rob Norris holds practices at the Twin Lakes complex. He charged $700 per player for travel basketball. Because of Covid-19, we only had two practices and no tournaments. He has refused to give a pro-rated refund. He is asking to apply the monies toward next year, or give a donation to Indiana Red. This seems dishonest to me!

Rannix: Sorry to hear about this. We have no affiliation with Indiana Red. They are free to rent court time in our facility like anyone from the public is free to do that. I recommend to all parents before they venture to a private, independent team to check as many references as possible and to pay in installments on a monthly basis. I can give a recommendation from being in this business a long time. If you feel strongly that you have been mistreated financially, I would send them a formal letter outlining the points and suggesting possible small claims and/or broadcast of your reference to potential future customers. That often gets the results that you may justly deserve.
