Emailed back with an explanation about why we have implemented the weekend closures of Kirkwood and the parklets and why we are not charging at this time.
Other: How much at the restaurants paying to use the public parking/roadways? These restaurants take up an entire road and the parking spaces on both sides of the road.

Hello, My name is Kaisa Goodman, and I am the Special Projects Manager for the Department of Economic & Sustainable Development in the City of Bloomington. I am reaching out in response to a uReport ticket you had submitted with regards to the weekend closures of Kirkwood. The weekend closures of Kirkwood were approved by the City Council at the June 17th meeting. The goals of this measure--and other recent implementations for outdoor dining, like the parklets--are to provide expanded outdoor dining since that is a safer option with COVID health concerns. Additionally, COVID-related health guidelines currently limit the indoor capacity of restaurants, and expanding outdoor dining provides some economic relief for our local restaurants who are struggling during this difficult time. For the outdoor dining--both the Kirkwood closures and the parklets--there is currently no cost to the restaurants. We are focused on providing economic relief to our local businesses as well as safer options for both patrons and staff. Feel free to reach out to me directly at kaisa.goodman@bloomington.in.gov or 812-349-3587 with any further questions. Sincerely, Kaisa Goodman
