Parks & Playgrounds:

Other: Lots of speeding next to Park Ridge East Park, especially around corner of Morningside to Summerhouse. Was told they would have speed bump when constructed. Kids are definitely at risk. Can Summerhouse get a speed bump next to park or even removable road barriers or something. They should be using 3rd. But at least go slow next to kids.

Hi There! Thanks for reaching out. You may know that Park Ridge East applied for Resident Led Traffic Calming in response to reports of this behavior this year. As it stands, it appears this project did not rise to the level to which we feel funding is likely to occur for this year. However, the project application will be active for at least one more year- so there is potential in future project years. I do believe that the planned Greenway installation on Morningside will help remediate the cut through behavior reported, as well as mitigate speed non-compliance in the area. As it stands, it may be 5 years before this is designed/ installed assuming funding levels remain the same. Please feel free to reach out to me if you would like to discuss more. I can best be reached via email rickbeilm@bloomington.in.gov. Again, please reach out if you would like to discuss more. Thank you. Mallory

A speeding concern with interest in traffic calming. Mallory Rickbeil leads our traffic calming program, and she'll be happy to suggest next steps. Thanks, Beth

Beth - I think this is more of a planning issue.
