Other: I'm very excited to see the new High Street multi path finally being developed, however I do have 2 concerns about the project. First, access for our Sycamore Knolls neighborhood into the Jackson Creek Trail has been effectively cut off during construction, and there is really no safe way to bike to the trail with small children unless you ride on High Street. Better consideration should have been given to maintain pedestrian access after removing the existing sidewalk on High Street. Second, it is disappointing that the trail will end at Arden. It would have been nice to see in continue north for another half mile to Marilyn/Covenanter, and connect into the existing Covenanter Greenway. That would have greatly expanding access for the Southeast side of town towards the B-Line trail utilizing this existing greenway.

The project has a pedestrian detour in place. That mandatory detour route was selected by the design engineer and based on the shortest route that can maintain ADA compliance. This project is only one portion of the City's long-range plan for trails and multi-use paths. Future phases will continue the multi-use path north along High Street to meet up with not only the Covenanter Greenway but also 2nd and 3rd Streets.
