City of Bloomington, Indiana

closed: Resolved #178878

Blocked Street:

Other: 12th St. Between Indiana Ave. and Walnut St. is a two-way street, but two cars can't safely drive on the street at the same time because the street isn't wide enough to accommodate two lanes of traffic and street parking. Often you have to pull over to let people through because the street isn't wide enough, and I've almost lost a mirror because someone was too close several times.

Thank you for reaching out and bringing attention to the traffic concerns on 12th St. Your input is crucial in helping us address community needs effectively. We will look into your question and may consider bringing this matter to a future Traffic Commission meeting as a "traffic inquiry." The traffic inquiry process allows us to gather valuable insights from the public and the Traffic Commission, ensuring a thorough understanding of specific issues and potential solutions before any decisions are made. In the coming weeks, I will follow up with more details and provide information on the scheduled agenda date if the question is officially brought forward as a traffic inquiry. If you have any additional details or observations you'd like to share, please feel free to reach me at roblingr@bloomington.in.gov or 812-349-3459. Thank you, Ryan
