Per the City's Transportation Plan, Morninside is planned to become a Neighborhood Greenway as part of Phase II of our High Priority Bike Network. The 2019 plan gives a general guideline of 5-7 years, meaning that we may be able to expect this improvement sometime before 2026- though there are no guarantees at this time. Our ability to make our Priority Network goals hinges on optimizing the limited funding we have and completing the projects already in queue. Please know that we are aware of the issue and doing everything we can as a department to address speed non-compliance in neighborhoods like Park Ridge East. In the meantime, it may be helpful to reach out to your Councilmembers and voice your support for traffic calming projects.
