Sewer Problems (Storm Sewers):

Other: I've been meaning to report for some time. During major rain events stormwater rushes into my basement in through the sanitary sewer drain. The last time was June 2021 and storm water poured in for 8-10 hours solid. Luckily I have installed a sump pump that kept the overall water level manageable. I've lived at this address for 10+ years and this problem has occurred 3-5 times total. It only happens when the storm water system is overwhelmed. I believe the same happens for my neighbors. Is there anything I can do to prevent more back flow during major rain events?

There isn't a lot that we can do because it is infiltration from the rain water. I will have the camera truck run through there to verify everything is okay. As far as what you can do to help prevent this is to install a check valve in your sewer lateral.
