Many of the duplicate street names historically connected, and in some cases was just poor planning decades ago. Changing street names is a difficult ordeal for any who currently live on the road, as well as those who utilize the roads. That said, the City, in coordination with Ellettsville, Monroe County, and representatives from our collective Emergency Response departments meet monthly to discuss addresses and street names. While I don't foresee any street names changing in the near future, it is an item that we do periodically discuss as we weigh the pros and cons. As a matter of policy, we do not allow new duplicates within Monroe County moving forward.
