Appears to be normal deer behavior, will patrol area.
Other: I was walking my dog on the path around the retention pond (off of Azalea Lane, toward the Summit Point Apartments). I noticed a deer following along beside us, watching us. When my dog noticed the deer and went toward her, the deer became aggressive and hooved (for lack of better term) my dog. We began running away from the deer, she followed but stayed in the forest. The deer continued following in the forest until we got to the street in Bayberry.

Thanks for letting us know. This could be normal deer behavior. They are naturally curious animals. When confronted by your dog, the stomping, huffing, and lunging is designed to get your dog to avoid the confrontation. There could have been a fawn in the area that the doe was protecting from possibly danger. If you have further issues, or wish to speak with an Animal Control Officer give us a call at 812-349-3492.
