Sidewalk Requests:

Other: We live in Renwick neighborhood. A house was built on 2435 Cathcart St. The sidewalk needs connected or installed from 2435 Cathcart St. to 2425 Cathcart St. There is a green space between the two homes and the sidewalk needs to be completed for safety reasons. When walking on the sidewalk, it ends and you have to go out in the street. The sidewalk needs to be installed so it continues.

Hi Wendy, I apologize for my delayed response. I have shared this request with our Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator. The sidewalk request will be noted for future sidewalk projects. Most sidewalks in Renwick were constructed in conjunction with the construction of a home on the lot. The sidewalk gap you mention is on a parcel that will not have a house developed because it is part of a karst (sinkhole) conservancy area. We will look into other options for the sidewalk. For now, we will add this to a list of sidewalk requests. If you have further questions, please contact our Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator at 812-349-3423. Thank you, Beth Rosenbarger

Hi Liz, This will involve determining if the sidewalk where the person is describing is required to be built by the developer; it appears to be in a karst conservancy easement, but it is not clear what was shown on their subdivision approvals. Thanks! Beth

I am reassigning this case. This case will involve Development Review determining if this section of sidewalk is required; and if so, who is required to build it. Thank you.
