City Construction Projects:

Other: Hi, I live on W Wylie Street between Rogers and Fairview, and I'm super concerned about the detour down our street. On the face of it, this seems like a good solution, because our street is one-way and there is a construction detour sign on Rogers that would route people the right way and bypass the construction on Second Street. As a resident, I can tell you that people race down this street the wrong way *all the time*, and with the construction detour they are now racing in the opposite direction as well. This is a one-lane street with the other lane used for on-street parking. I'm waiting for a bad head-on collision. Someone drove the wrong way down Wylie going at least 40 mph while I was writing this. Thanks for listening and doing anything you can to make this safer. I know they're breaking the law, but I don't want anyone to get hurt or killed. Thank you.

8/22/22: It was noted that one of the “Do Not Enter signs had been removed/knocked down and the Street Department replaced the sign as of Monday morning. Hopefully this helps decrease wrong way traffic on this stretch of Wylie.

City Team - Can we ask that the contractors get up additional signage in short order, as well as think about what other traffic calming could occur?
