City Performance:

Other: Saw a few reports on here were closed with very much the same answers but other concerns in the reports were ignored. We moved here years ago to retire and had worked in other governments and they all worked the same hours. Why do the county and city in this geographical area not work the same hours? It is very confusing because us citizens do not always know the correct place for help and need one or the other. Contrary to the response on here, we see the job postings in the paper, and the county has higher wages now by far with less education requirements, they work less hours as a whole, and they are closed for more holidays. I am unclear as to why the response given on this system is dismissive when there’s clearly a need for employees to be retained because citizens’ needs are not being met? Again it seems there have been many concerned with the fact that -not just you but many employers in the city are not modernizing and helping retain and attract employees in a healthy way for the long-term. If we were still in the government system working, a random additional benefit would not retain me versus better pay and less work hours in a week. Just another thought from involved citizens. Thanks for hearing our concerns.

Hello again! This is the first complaint we remember receiving about the differing work hours between the City and County. I will bring the issue to HR's attention. As an employee it sounds good to me! Mayor Hamilton has asked for a 5% raise for non-union employees in the 2023 budget which is currently being considered by the City Council.
