While the side effects of the algal bloom may have caused a funny smell and taste the water was safe and drinkable. Utilities was doing as much as they could to mitigate the smell and taste that accompanied the algal bloom in the reservoir however The smell and taste should be greatly improved or back to normal now with the drop in temperate and the previous rainfall.
