Thank you for this suggestion. As with any signalized intersection, drivers should wait for green instead of attempting a turn on red if they do not have adequate visibility. Staff is not pursuing this individual turn on red restriction. However, this location has been noted and there may be larger policy discussions regarding turns on red in contexts that require drivers to pull forward past the stop bar in order to improve visibility. Ultimately this is a City Council decision. Within the last few years City Council voted to restrict turns on red in downtown areas.
