Trails:

Other: Feels unsafe to walk trails during the day, numerous homeless people were seen on the sidewalks strung out on drugs. I noticed that the campers were coming out of several encampments throughout the trail during our walk. Also, just curious why the homeless camps have signs posted" private no trespassing" at various locations on trail? Are they on actually on private land or is it owned by the city? This was my first time at the trail and I'm sadden why such a beautiful park that was built with tax payers money has become a haven for the homeless community.

Hoang - thank you for sending in the uReport and I am sorry your walk along the trail was not enjoyable. These encampments are on private property and the signs you see are the property owners communicating that message. The Parks department refers these areas to social service providers, shelters and Downtown Resource officers who provide services for people living in encampments. Park hours are 5am - 11pm. We have private security and Park Patrol staff who nightly circulate through park properties assisting people along after hours. Private Security are also on duty throughout the day at Switchyard Park and along the B-Line trail on patrol.
