The plan is to solarize the jumping worms by covering them with black tarp. Since they are on asphalt there is no reason to believe they will be able to escape the area and this should kill the cocoons and living worms.
If we try to transport the pile to the landfill there is a chance the bags could break and the worms could be exposed to other areas.
This process should take place next week. Until then, garden staff are communicating with as many gardeners as possible as well as monitoring the signage.
