Street Lights:

Other: The old street lights are in need of maintainance. One is taken down after it was hit by a car several years ago. They all need to be painted. Some look rusty. What is the plan for the beautiful old street lights? Between Atwater Ave and E 2nd St.

The City will have to determine the full scope of a potential repair/restoration project of the Hawthorne street lights that includes funding source, Administration support and the Bloomington Historic Preservation Commission.

Ms Wiebke, Unfortunately, Public Works is constricted on maintenance services of these lights due to their age, structural condition and historic designation. Therefore, any maintenance service preformed will have to wait until the City determines the full scope of the project, along with the City's Administration and the Bloomington Historic Preservation Commission. Best, Christina

Ms. Wiebke, Thank you for taking the time to communicate with the City of Bloomington regarding the plan for the Hawthorne lights. Providing maintenance services on these lights have been a challenge due to their age and historic designation. I will speak to my director about it when he's back in the office next week. I will follow up with you as soon as I have information to share. Best, Christina
