City of Bloomington, Indiana

closed: Resolved #184184

Parks & Playgrounds:

Other: Seminary park is a mess! The whole area around the park very dangerous. There are people using drugs and alcohol in public view, trash everywhere, lots of stolen merchandise (shopping carts), constant fights, illegal camps, etc…how does the city allows this to go on for years and years without any resolution? Your solutions do not work and will not work! It’s the standard definition of insanity…”keep doing the same thing and expect change”. Maybe it’s time to do something different…or will the city wait for more people to get hurt or killed?

Thanks for the comment. There are challenges with Seminary Park, but parks are also open for all to use from 5am to 11pm. While BPD is responsible for law enforcement, we do have park security that patrols this park -- and other parks -- and in particular helps enforce hours. Our custodial staff clean the park every morning, which can involve several hours of work. If you want you can direct further policy comments to the Office of the Mayor. Thanks -
