Other: Just curious if it's normal if homeless take baths in the splash pad for kids. I watched this on 7-5-23. I find it disturbing and disgusting.. Something has to be done with the amount of transients at Switchyard. They have over run Seminary, rails to trails, parking lots, corners and sidewalks.. I don't fill safe taking my family downtown any longer.. Something has to change... Marty S.

Marty, Thank you for the feedback. Bathing is not allowed in the spray pad. Anyone caught with using soap and bathing in the spray pad will be asked to leave. Staff have been reminded to be vigilant for this type of behavior. Parks are a space for everyone. As long as they are following the rules and not creating a danger or harassing others everyone is welcome. When staff come across individuals exhibiting prohibited behavior they will ask them to cease or leave.
Thank you for the report. I'm referring this to Hsiung Marler to answer your question about the spray pad. Parks are open to the public during normal hours (5a-11p) and we provide security patrols during those hours and beyond.
