Planning staff investigated, but lighting did not register as a violation of light trespass standards. As such, the complainant may wish to discuss/request light bulb type changes with Duke directly.
Other: There are two utility lights on either side of my property that are LEDs and they are so bright they shine in mine and my neighbors windows disrupting our sleep and other activities! They need to be changed to one of the amber dimmer street lights!

Planning staff can investigate if it registers outside of the threshold designated by code. If there is no violation found, preference of light bulb types on a Duke energy pole would need to be discussed/requested by the complainant with Duke directly.
Hi Jennifer, I am not sure if you're the right person in your department regarding light trespass issues. If not, could you please send it to the appropriate person. The lights in question are in the back of property on both sides of 1400 S Walnut St. They are LED security lights on utility poles. They're downward facing; however, the issue is how bright they are and that they are shining into his and neighbors window. They may be 4,000 Kelvin which is a bright white lighting pattern. Duke offers a 3,000 Kelvin which is a soft yellow lighting pattern. Thanks, Christina
Mr. Ray, Thank you for communicating with the City of Bloomington regarding the utility lights. Are you referring to the street light on the east side of S Walnut St which is across the street from your property? I will also do a drive by the area this week. You may email me at smithc@bloomington.in.gov. Thanks, Christina
