City of Bloomington, Indiana

closed: Resolved #186134

Request a new Street Light:

Other: Dark Intersection. Dangerous for pedestrians and bicyclists. I almost hit a bicyclist who was wearing dark clothing and no lights on bicycle. Always have to be very careful at this intersection because it is so dark at night.

Ms Zering, Thank you for taking the time to communicate with the City of Bloomington Department of Public Works. The City leases street lights from Duke Energy and pays for the equipment, energy, & maintenance costs with Duke Energy providing the maintenance services. Each year dependent upon available funding, DPW installs lights within the public right of way based upon residential request. I have placed your request on our departmental lighting request worksheet. I have placed it on the schedule for early 2024 installation. Best, Christina
