I just got this from an Engineer. If this was about the W 17th St area near the Arlington Roundabout, I actually did get documentation of the fiber folks blocking both sidewalks and have issued fines for it. We make it clear with contractors that both sidewalks are not to be closed at the same time and if they don't comply we enforce it. Thanks for the heads up! Any info like from the resident is very helpful because we can use the information as a clear demonstration of need for our requirements if they come into question.

Let the complainant know that the sidewalks weren't blocked when I went to check it out.

By the time I got to check this out two days later, there was nothing blocking either sidewalk. The workers on site disputed ever blocking any sidewalks. This is a sub-contractor who it will be difficult to register a complaint with, much less find out who it was who did this. But it would have been employed by the City and so we can't investigate it as it would be like investigating ourselves.
