Temporary signs that meet size limits for signs allowed to be displayed without a permit, do not have time limits for how long they are allowed to be displayed at a property. Every property is allowed to display 3 temporary signs without requiring a permit: 2 signs of up to 5 square feet in area and 1 sign of up to 8 square feet in area. Temporary signs must be displayed in a code-compliant location on private property--not in a prohibited location such as the public right-of-way (ROW).
