Temporary sign is of compliant size for temporary signs allowed without requiring a permit and is placed in a code-compliant location on private property.
Other: Yard sign at intersection promoting AT&T service for >30 days now. This is not legal, correct? They had yard service today and they made sure sign was again standing tall after they finished...
Temporary sign is of compliant size for temporary signs allowed without requiring a permit and is placed in a code-compliant location on private property.
Temporary signs that meet size limits for signs allowed to be displayed without a permit, do not have time limits for how long they are allowed to be displayed at a property. Every property is allowed to display 3 temporary signs without requiring a permit: 2 signs of up to 5 square feet in area and 1 sign of up to 8 square feet in area. Temporary signs must be displayed in a code-compliant location on private property--not in a prohibited location such as the public right-of-way (ROW). Please consult the City's Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Section 20.04.100 for all City Sign standards. The UDO can be found at https://bloomington.in.gov/planning/udo. Please consult Monroe County Elevate Map at https://monroein.elevatemaps.io/ to determine property lines and ROW lines. Planning staff will investigate the reported location for signage potentially placed in a prohibited location.
