This property is zoned MM and our current code does allow the self-storage use on properties in the MM zoning district. If you have concerns or objections about this proposal, I invite you to contact the developer and speak to them, or attend the June 10th Plan Commission hearing and speak during the public comment time. Regarding notification of neighbors - current code requires that the developer present their project at Neighborhood Associations meeting for neighborhoods within 500 feet of the property in question. The developer presented their plan at the May 5th Park Ridge East Neighborhood Association meeting. If you are in the Park Ridge East Neighborhood and did not get notified by the Neighborhood Association about that meeting, I recommend that you reach out to the individuals who manage the neighborhood association and ask them to reevaluate their communication methods. In addition to a neighborhood meeting, other forms of notification required are 1. a legal ad in the paper; 2. a yard sign on the property; and 3. letters to adjacent properties within 300 feet of the property in question.
