Parks & Playgrounds:

Other: Two issues that do not reflect well on the park: the sign about native plants in a mulched bed that contains mostly weeds. (This is curly dock.) And the starlings that are nesting in the tip of the roof over the picnic tables and leaving droppings. Please do not disturb the barn swallow nest in the back corner. They are neither noisy nor messy.

The weedy mulched areas have been cleaned up and seeded with native turf grass and will be maintained by regular mowing and the native plant sign has been removed. The European starling nest will not be disturbed while active, but the area will be closed off later this summer to help prevent future nesting activities.
