Other: I am interested in having a pedestrian walkway that will cross at the north end of our parking lot. This is the driveway that is directly across from Starbucks. The Excel Center is a school for adults and we have several that take the bus. We also have students in wheelchairs that are using the bus system. There isn't a safe way to get across the street directly from our driveway across from Starbucks to the bus stop. Is it possible to have someone come and look or can we discuss a safe way for our students to cross. Because we are an all day campus, we also have students that cross the street for lunch. Recently, the director and I went out to look to see how easy it is to get across to the bus stop and we had a very difficult time. Can this be looked into further or a pedestrian button to be pushed with flashing lights for crossing? Similar to the bike trail across busy roads have is what I am thinking.

We appreciate the feedback! We are actually installing a mid-block crossing at the bus stop (in front of the Aldi) with a pedestrian refuge island. The crossing will be fully accessible and the refuge island will allow pedestrians to cross one direction of vehicle traffic at a time which should make crossing Liberty much more comfortable for your students. Installation will begin early 2025 and should be wrapped up by mid-2025. You are probably already aware, but a new multi-use path is being installed along the east side of Liberty Drive and a new signal at Liberty and Constitution will allow for more comfortable crossings there as well.
