Trails:

Other: Hi, I am hoping you can forward this to the appropriate person to address this concern. This weekend I was biking with my son, going east on 1st St and entering Rogers-Binford campus by the playground. We were approaching the trail connection at the end of 1st street east of High St and I was largely focused on the road because it's a bit bumpy there. At the last second I realized there was a metal chain stretched halfway across the trail. I was able to slam on my brakes and skid to a stop, but it was quite a close call. The chain is not particularly visible and wasn't there the last time we went through. We came very close to getting hurt, and it seems likely that someone will get hurt if it stays as is. Someone going through at night is going to be in for a rough surprise. I understand you probably put the vertical post on a tire in the middle of the trail to discourage cars from driving through there and that seems fine, but please (please!) don't stretch a chain across the trail. Or if there's some critical reason that the chain is there, then at least hang a bunch of large bright flags from it or something. Thank you! - RS
