City of Bloomington, Indiana

open #193238

Biking & Walking:

Other: North Dunn between Cottage Grove and 12th Street has no sidewalk at all on the west side of the street and several places on the east side that also do not have a sidewalk. This forces people to walk in the middle of the street. Lately, there have been times in the evening when there are *many* people walking (stumbling) down the street, all probably en route to/from "The Standard". These are people who cross the railroad tracks through the vandalize security fence there. If the City is not going to prevent people from crossing the railroad in the dark and over rocks and difficult terrain by putting up some sort of impermeable wall at 13th/Dunn, at least they could provide a functional sidewalk for intoxicated students to walk on. To make things worse, the street lamp at 11th/Dunn is burned out so on top of having to walk in the middle of the street it is also almost pitch black there. And this is all complicated by the fact that so many people at night drive the wrong way down Dunn and 11th Street, both of which are one-way streets.
