Staff are in contact with the property in regard to the complaint about the reported flashing/cycling nature of the light so they can work with Duke to resolve this.

Corresponded with the property to discuss the installation of the newer floodlight facing E 3rd ST. They indicated they would have maintenance take a look and adjust it or remove it. Staff followed up with an email regarding the complaint and code references to ensure the lighting is compliant. Staff will be in contact with the site regarding adjustment of the lighting until it is compliant.

Christina, I have looked at the July 2023 google street view and the Elevate March 2024 pictometry and see a previously existing shielded, full cutoff type light on the utility pole. The image submitted by the complainant is a different light now attached to this pole facing the street. Would this have to be requested by the property for Duke to install this?

The street light in question is a private street light. I notified the resident and provided contact information for the City of Bloomington Planning Department to determine if this would qualify as a lighting trespass issue. I recommended that the resident contact the property owner/property management company of where the light is located.
