City Performance:

Other: On a whim, I decided to watch the 2/25/25 BPW meeting on CATS this morning. I was very disappointed to hear the casualness that the closed sidewalk on Lincoln was handled. Whether it is contiguous or not, it is still one of the only options of refuge for a pedestrian to walk with relative safety. The impression I got from the city staff is that it is expected and welcomed for pedestrians to just use the road. I understand that construction needs to happen, I just hope that in the future pedestrian considerations are treated with more care even if it is a small section! This is a long enough project (June 2027!) that I hope staff can look and see if other options are available.

We have reviewed the site of the entire project enclosure where the fencing is. There is only one section of non-contiguous sidewalk along near 18th Street that is part of the project site. The section along 19th does not have sidewalks currently. The good news is that the north side of 19th has a long multi-block contiguous section of accessible sidewalk between Lincoln and Dunn that was required of previous developments.
