City of Bloomington, Indiana

closed: Submission Received #204964

Accessibility Problem:

Other: The ADA requires that sidewalks be firm, stable and slip-resistant. Numerous bricks that make up the downtown sidewalk are loose or missing. I saw an older woman trip on one of these in front of Fountain Square this week. I helped her up and when her husband took her to the ER because she may have broken her ankle. When it’s wet, these sidewalks are slippery than concrete sidewalks. They look nice but they are hazardous. At the least, the city needs to do a better job of maintaining them. Thank you.
