Other: This morning, November 10, on my son’s way to school, he slid off the road and damaged his car. He was not going to fast, nor could he have done anything to prevent it as he hit a patch of ice on a curve. While a somewhat new driver comparatively, he has experience navigating slick conditions from growing up racing and riding 4 wheelers, dirt bikes, etc. The reason he slid off the road is because it was not salted, sanded or treated in any way. The road, Acuff, is a road traveled by many students to get to Bloomington North. As he sat and waited for his Father to help him, he witnessed numerous cars almost run into him, do 360’s, and hit curbs. Why this road wasn’t a priority being a route to the school is baffling. I hope roads that are connected to school parking lots will become a priority, especially as in this case when the weather was no surprise.
