Other: Adding to the requests about the street lights, we noticed last night that all of the lights in the neighborhood seem to have been replaced with harsh white LED fixtures. At a minimum these need diffusers or something, the naked LEDs are very harsh and hurt the eyes of pedestrians. It would also be great if there were shields or something directing the light down, as currently they are unshielded. Honestly having the old lights back would be a massive improvement, but given how unlikely that is please consider these other mitigations. The light pollution from these lights is very unpleasant.

Duke Energy will order and install a shield on this fixture. If this does not resolve the issue, please email me at [email protected]. Thanks, Christina
I reported these streetlights to Duke Energy and a crew was dispatched to site. The crew adjusted the fixtures as much as possible. Duke Energy is working on an additional resolution. I will report back on this uReport on any additional resolution.
Yes, street light fixtures have been upgraded by Duke Energy from 100 Watt high pressure sodium vapor to 50 Watt LED Roadways because they are more energy efficient and require less maintenance. I will report these lights to Duke Energy and have them checked to determine if the fixtures needed adjusted. I will follow up on this uReport as soon as I hear from Duke. Christina
