This shelter's design was made to conform with the ADA rules requiring that bus shelters have three feet of navigable sidewalk on the front and side. The perforated aluminum shelter was selected to provide more shelter for passengers than the canopy-style shelters without walls and to prevent the danger of broken glass that was experienced with the previous shelter style. The aluminum sides allow for passengers to see out of the shelter as well as for drivers to see in the shelter during clear conditions.
