I apologize for issue. We did have a main break and no other residents in the neighborhood experienced these issues or didn't call about them. We typically flush fire hydrants to help with the brown color or outside spigots, but there were no hydrants and we didn't want to turn on private spigots with the weather conditions. If you experience issues again please call (812) 339-1444 right away.

Hello Kelly, Thank you for the report. Crews recently completed a main break repair in your area. During most main breaks, crews finish the process by flushing sediment that is stirred up during the repair using the nearest hydrant. If that's not available, they'll use hose bibs in the area instead. Unfortunately, neither were an option. There wasn't a hydrant near the break, and crews couldn't use hose bibs because of the extreme cold. The pressure and discoloration issues should go away after you flush your lines for a few minutes. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. Feel free to email me at [email protected].
