Sidewalk Snow Removal:
Other: I’m reaching out regarding an ongoing concern with the Farmers Insurance office owned by Philip Carr. He has been contacted previously about the requirement to keep his sidewalks clear of snow, but the issue continues.
The snow stopped on Sunday 1/25 and still this morning 1/25, the Washington Street side of his building remained unshoveled. The Towanda side was cleared, but by a neighboring business rather than the property owner. Additionally, the lot is plowed, the snow is plowed into the neighboring property and the sidewalk blocked by mounds of snow, that the property owner then has to remove to ensure their children can get to school Given that his location sits directly across from an elementary school with many students walking in this area, the lack of compliance creates a real safety issue.
I’m requesting that the city follow up on this situation and address the repeated failure to maintain the sidewalks as required.
