Sewer Problems (Sanitary Sewers):

Other: My roommate and I experienced sewage water expelled from our shower drain at our rental property managed by Granite Student Living on Saturday 1/24/26 when we tried to plunge a toilet. We have had three plumbing companies come out to inspect the line leading out of the house, and the conclusion is that the clay piping has been damaged/collapsed, and there may be further blockages that need the use of a high pressure water jet. We have been told water can slowly flow out of the house, but trying to send solid waste out of the property could cause a repeat of the original incident. Our management has been reluctant to assist us, meaning we have not had reliable access to a toilet on our property because it is the only bathroom. Granite management also informed us that they were unable to help because it was the entire street sewer main that collapsed, but after asking this to city utility maintenance, I was told that was not the issue. I'd like for the outside line to be inspected so our management company will either fix the issue or help find us temporary housing so we have reliable access to a bathroom.
