And! To your point about other parts of the City: the Economic and Sustainable Development department is very interested in creating more localized neighborhood business hubs around the City and in taking care of both the corridor to the west side and the east side amenities.

Thank you for your message. We appreciate that residents and business owners have passionate feelings about Kirkwood closure, and not everyone feels comfortable expressing their opinion in a public setting, especially when it feels like they are in the minority. Only 5 businesses participated in using their outdoor space, and feedback from other businesses and organizations in the area was split. The proposed parklet program would still allow those 5 to use some outdoor space. But whether someone agrees or disagrees with the City or Council's stance on a particular issue, I'm sure we all want residents to feel free to express their views in public meetings, via uReport, emails, calls, or direct meetings with their Council members or the administration.
