Traffic Suggestions:

Other: Yet another U-Haul truck was torn open this evening at the Adams Street railroad crossing. This happens so often that it's become a running joke in town. What we need is an overhead crash bar that provides immediate, physical feedback to drivers before they collide with the bridge. See, for example, this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUXCUEFzKFA. It would need to be installed far enough ahead that we wouldn't need to worry about railroad property lines. But even if we did, I'm sure this is one thing they'd be happy to cooperate with us on.

We are again evaluating this with the Railroad. You are correct in needing it far enough in advance with narrow right of way and private property lines. We've added more standard signage over the years, but recognize the need for something more robust which may include strike bars.
