I am very supportive of bike racks here, I think it makes a lot of sense for customers of these businesses. Many of the new bike racks in the City of Bloomington are required by "Full Compliance" or "Limited Compliance" with the Unified Development Ordinance when new commercial or multifamily buildings are built, expanded, or change uses. The proposed Trades District hotel and Greystar multifamily on Rogers and the BLine are examples. The tenant change at this location does not meet the threshold to require the business install their bike racks on private property, but that may be the simplest and easiest solution. There is parking for 20 bikes at the Trades Dist Garage facing the BLine near Rogers. These are not the most convenient for your location though. The Parks Dept might possibly have an interest in installing some racks in the ROW but I cannot speak for them- a good Parks contact might be Rebecca Swift [email protected].
