Traffic Signals:

Other: I sit on Landmark to turn left onto westbound 3rd Street. The light cycle seems far longer than any other light cycle in Bloomington. I timed it this morning and I sat at the light for 5 minutes 34 seconds. Is that expected and normal? To avoid this, I end up turning right and pulling a u-turn which I know isn't safe, but is the quickest way to get out of that intersection. It was around 7:50am this morning. The traffic on 3rd street never got an arrow even to turn left onto Landmark

Responded to resident and explained that staff will review the Landmark approach detection/timing because the reported five-minute wait is longer than expected.

Thank you for the additional details. A wait of more than five minutes would not be expected under normal operation, so we’ll take a look at the signal detection and timing around 7:50 a.m. to see if the Landmark approach is not being detected properly. Also, if the traffic signal shows a solid green ball, you may turn left after yielding to oncoming traffic when it is safe to do so. We’ll still check the operation to make sure the signal is responding as intended.
