I explained to Mr. Coster on the phone tha the meters were crossed, however, we did not know how it had happened or when. I also explained that I was following a procedure of going back one year for both his account and his neighbor that he was crossed with. Mr. Coster was the account that ended up owing money and his neighbor with a credit. The neighbors house is vacant, that is how the error was discovered. Last week, Mr. Coster & his wife came to ofc. I gave them print outs of their usage & what appeared on neighbors acct. I showed how I calculated difference. They understood but felt CBU should not bill them since they feel it was our error. They indicated they would probably write to the USB. I supplied the mailing address. That is the letter we rec'd. (2/24/00) - M.Dalle-Ave wrote letter to Mr. Coster after USB subcomm. mtg. denying request. Letter to be mailed after Legal Dept. approval.
