Phone Call: The open drainage ditches along the ten hundred block of S. Grant Street is a health/safety issue. The ditch serves no purpose for drainage since they are filled by tenants with tree limbs and are not maintained. The neighborhood would like the ditches filled in as part of the street repair project going on at this time.

No actin taken by this department. Apparently Mr. Jennings had the Street Crews preform the desired work. I did not and can not agree with this action. By paving over the open ditch Mr. Jennings may have caused a larger problem for himself and the rest of the neighborhood. JWHeald 09OCT97
