I own the property located at 1005 N. Jackson St, 47404. Shortly after purchasing the property the house next door burned down. We felt very fortunate that our house was not damaged. The house was demolished, however, shortly after demolishing the house someone has set up a tent on the lot and multiple people have been seen using the tent. There is trash surrounding the tent. Though we have not seen a fire there is what appears to be a makeshift fire pit. We use this property as a short term rental and it has the proper permits. I am personally concerned about the safety of my wife who spends some of her days working on improvements within the property. Obviously concerned about the impact on our ability to rent the home with the above described situation. I'm not sure what can be done but after reviewing the code it does not seem like this fits the intended use of the property. I am also empathetic to the rise of homelessness in our community, but this is a residential neighborhood and for the safety of all community members something should be done. We dodged a serious issue when the house burnt down and worry we may not be so lucky if something happens again. Thanks for your attention to this matter, please reach out with any questions. The house at the mentioned address burned in April 2018. It has been abandoned since with nothing done to fix or repair. The owner keeps many objects out in the yard and up in the trees. (Many facing neighbors' properties.) The yard has not been kept up with before or since and we (neighbors surrounding this house) are concerned about rodents and other pests that could be attracted to this house. We are also concerned about what it is doing to our property values. It was a tragedy for this house to burn but it has been almost three years and nothing has been done to clean this property up. We hope there is something the City of Bloomington can do to help us with this eyesore and possible hazard to people in the neighborhood.

this home is my next door neighbor, had a fire in 2018, nothing has been done with the property, the yard is out of control. Concerned about me and my other neighbors property value, possibly vermin. The owner shows up occasionally and builds sculptures in the yard out of trash. Can something be done about this? The neighbor on the other side is also very worried. Maybe she's reached out also, don't know. would appreciate some feedback from whomever reads this.

Does anyone know what is going on at 4224 East Penn Ct? This is the home that had the terrible fire damage. It now appears that someone is living there, and are converting it into some sort of art installation/ haunted house. The entire front yard is fenced in, including the driveway. I checked GIS and a sale has not been made since Mark Harper purchased it in 2013. Any insight into what is going on down there would be great. I mean, the windows are all still boarded up. Is someone squatting there??
