The two building directly to the north of my building are currently unsafe with multiple viewings of homeless and users coming and going from in between the buildings. It's not safe for anybody to be back there with the activity that happens daily. The light on that property is also out and there have been homeless camping in the unkept wooded area behind my property that is owned by the City. I thought that the two buildings were to be torn down at one point, but it seems that the issues were temporarily fixed and the owner was allowed to keep the buildings up. The security fence set up to hinder people from crossing RR property at Dunn has been cut through and people are now walking across, even when the train is coming. This necessitates the train conductors to blow their horns loudly to clear the tracks at this location when they pass by (at all hours). When "The Standard" is full of 1000+ entitled undergraduates, they will likely all use this passage to make their lives easier. Who is actually responsible for maintaining the wall/fencing that blocks illegal and dangerous crossing of the tracks stretching from Walnut to Indiana Avenues? It was not so bad when Brownstone was still there, but since the beginning of the "Standard" construction project (that has been going on sporadically for two years now), the barrier has slowly degraded. Is this a matter for the police or the "Standard" property owners or the City or the adjacent property owners? We fear that there will be a high rate of late-night, drunken crossings coupled with the likely concomitant periodic deaths if something is not done about this. Does Bloomington rally want to continue to be known for a place that allows (encourages) dangerous and unhealthy behavior? It's bad enough that scooters are allowed (how many deaths have they caused so far?) - does the City now want there to be regular RR accidents that result in beheadings, or worse?

House and property presents unsafe conditions, including: 1) exterior paint chipping (hazardous to young children and pregnant women) 2) unstable stone wall along sidewalk 3) overgrown weeds 4) large tree overhanging neighboring house 5) deteriorating foundation 6) porch seems to be falling away from house 7) overgrown branches on electrical wire 8) deteriorating roof/shingles Example photo provided as attachment.

The neighborhood around 2nd and Lincoln has a few houses that are rented by undergrads who have loud parties most nights. More seriously, there is broken glass EVERYWHERE along the sidewalks the next day. Many people (including me) have dogs they need to walk through the area, and no matter what direction we go, there's a section of small broken glass to get through. Is there a way you can issue a notice to these houses or fine them for the hazard? I don't know what else to do. Thank you.

618 E. Atwater The roof has to be on the verge of collapse. If someone were to enter this structure, who knows what could happen to them. Beyond the fact that it is blight right in the middle of one of the most important parts of the city, the property and the structure is a danger to anyone near it. Please do something about this. It has been sitting like this entirely too long.

The stone chimney is damaged and stones continue to fall from this home off their roof onto my property. The owner needs to do something with this chimney to make it safe.

Chimney at 628 E University is dropping rocks on our property at 630 E University St (you have our permission to inspect our property which is east of 628). After numerous requests to the property managers to fix this issue since Fall of 2021, and multiple requests by the City for them to fix it (beginning in January of 2022), it is still in disrepair and dropping rock on our property. One incident of major concern is a rock hit our gas valve and broke it. Gas was leaking. Gas company had to fix. Rocks are landing by our windows at ground level. We are in fear of our dogs being hit and us being hit in our yard. Please help us with this matter. High winds and storms during this season is making this, to us, an urgent matter.

Mary Friedman originally emailed the Office of the Mayor January 14th, 2016 complaining that this property had been abandoned for the last 5 years. At that time coyotes were living in the home. However, she emailed again October 19th, 2016, saying the property is now being occupied by a group of homeless people.

There are multiple issues. This home is abandoned. The floor in front of the door is missing and someone can fall directly into the basement. Many dead trees and branches on property. The front door and many windows are wide open. Garage doors have been vandalized and sprayed with graffiti. I have many other photos and can send them if needed.
