There is a pole nut no crosswalk sign to warn speeding cars. This dog-leg is a heavily used walkway for the employees of Solution Tree that has to walk across the street to get to parking lot. I have almost been hit many times as well as my coworkers. Cars do not slow down and it is a BLIND bend. Please make this a top priority to put a sign up before someone gets seriously injured or killed. -Dean Chapin - Solution Tree 555 N. Morton

Hello I am the office manager at Summit Urology located on McIntire Dr off of Tapp Rd and we have a few concerns 1 being that we have a Surgery Center down stairs and we are going to soon have only 1 way in or out of here. This is a concern due to if we ever need an ambulance to come to the surgery center in the event of an emergency and the road be blocked for some reason it could mean life or death for someone. Yesterday the road was blocked off for 38 min no one could get in or out of the medical park. I find this to not be a good result and need to speak to someone about our concerns.

I understand the Council is voting on Ordinance 17-23 to amend Title 15 of the Municipal Code in regard to bicycles. Unfortunately, I am not able to attend any public comment session at the meeting. As such, I thought I would provide my comments via email as suggested by the city's website. I think this Ordinance provides the Council an opportunity to examine bicycle restrictions on certain roads in Bloomington during certain hours of the day when traffic is high. For example, I have encountered numerous occasions where bicyclists hold up the flow of traffic on Rhorer Road while heading eastbound and going up a hill near a private road entrance. I have noticed that drivers appear to become impatient and honk at the cyclists, and others pass the cyclists when they should not. I think the proceeding eastbound traffic also has no idea that traffic is being held up and it comes as a surprise when driving over the hill, because the westbound cars are often left of center to avoid the cyclists. Another example is on Sare Road. Bicyclists will often ride in large packs up or down Sare Road which halts traffic. I have seen these groups be as large as 15 or 20. Indiana Code ยง 9-21-8-2 requires drivers proceeding at less than normal speeds of traffic to get as close to the right-hand curb as practicable to enable safe passing. These large groups of bicyclists seem to either disregard Section 9-21-8-2 or are too large a group for motorists to safely pass. As proponents of the two-abreast laws will note, it takes longer to pass a long line of bicyclists than it does a compact group. In short, I think reasonable temporal and geographical restrictions on certain roads for bicyclists would ensure their safety as well as the safety of other drivers and pedestrians. I would respectfully request the Council take that into consideration while it considers passage of Ordinance 17-23.

On the corner of Moore's Pike and SR 446 is a flashing lite--yellow on 446 and red on Moore's Pike. I nearly caused an accident: I stopped while eastbound on Moore's Pk and then entered the intersection to turn left while a car was coming south 446 at full speed. I know the intersection well, but forgot that 446 has right of way & I thought 446 traffic had to stop. Please, please, please remind the drivers that "Cross traffic doesn't stop." Place flashing signs on the light and on a street sign proximal to the light. I was with my mom and talking, but not texting or fiddling with the radio. Please increase the sign warnings. My husband also once almost forgot. It's dangerous!!!!

Because Kirkwood is closed traffic is backed up all down 6th St and Indiana. I spent 20 minutes trying to get from Indiana and 3rd St and 7th St. I work in the Poplars Building and park in the Poplars Garage and it took me 10 minutes to leave for an appointment this afternoon when there were only 2 cars ahead of me. Because of all of this traffic I was forced to take an extra 30 minutes at lunch and will have to leave 30 minutes early so I can be sure to pick up my daughter from daycare before they close. I don't have the PTO to spare and I am so frustrated. I didn't know the road would be closed until today when a co-worker mentioned it, other wise I would have had no idea. I am so angry and so frustrated that you closed this street, especially if it really was for a driverless bus test. Go test it somewhere else where you don't have high traffic! Indiana is always down to one lane. Please do not close the road tomorrow. This is going to cause accidents, not to mention the MASSIVE inconvenience. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I'm sure you're getting more than a few emails about this. -Holly

Dangerous crosswalks on 17th street. My father almost hit a pedestrian because it was so dark on 17th street and a lot of glare making it hard to see a pedestrian who suddenly crossed the road wearing ear buds and completely oblivious to the fact a car was coming and he could not be seen. If I had not screamed in time he would have been hit.

On East 17th Street in front of the Devault Alumni Center (1000 E 17th St) there is a well-used pedestrian crosswalk. The white stripes are faded and at the crest of a hill, which makes them difficult for cars to see. A sign in the center of the roadway to highlight where the crosswalk is would be more eye-catching and will help drivers notice the crosswalk. The crosswalk is also right across from a bus stop, so this causes further confusion for drivers, who may be unsure if people are waiting for the bus or getting ready to cross. If a new island type sign was erected and the bus stop was moved 40-50 feet east of the crosswalk, I believe it would make this area much safer for pedestrians and drivers.
