Hello City Issues, As you look at the location I'm sure you already know what I'm asking. As you leave the AMC movie theater on the west side of town on 3rd street, there's that ambiguous light that I've seen traffic handle two different ways. One is that only the left lane turns left and the other set treat both lanes as left turn lanes. I'm here to ask: 1) Can you verify, as you leave the movie theater, if I want to turn right onto 3rd street, is the first light only left turn-able from the left lane or do both allow you to turn? 2) This is very pie in the sky, but are you able to place traffic signs near the lights indicating the available turns? Having them clarify the purpose of the right hand lane would be tremendous. I'm only asking because I've constantly seen people think one of two camps and, every time I leave the movie theater, I nearly see a wreck every time. Thank you. -Joe

Dangerous intersection - should install traffic controls to prevent people heading South on Curry Pike to turn East in to Speedway and keep people from turning South out of Speedway. This intersection is very busy and I have seen multiple near misses in the last few weeks.

Please add more signage to 3rd and Rogers St. to discourage through traffic on W 3rd St. especially large trucks and vehicles with trailers. 4th St. & 3rd St. & Howe are all designated “neighborhood residential street” in the Bloomington Transportation Plan. They are to be “low speed and low volume”. There is a sign east of Rogers on 3rd. that says “No through trucks on 3rd St” but it is old and very faded. I am asking if a similar sign could be newly added to the two sign posts at Rogers that are of a picture of a black truck with a red circle crossing it out, add the written signs underneath that, is that possible? Thanks.

Why did you change the traffic flow of this roundabout? It use to flow very smooth. I drive northbound on Sare each day, and now that you have changed the flow, I wait each morning at the roundabout. When school starts, it will be a mess. When those apartments fill up and the rest of the Lakes is build, it will be much, much worse. Please consider changing it back to the way it was. Someone has too much time on their hands to change things like this, or else you have faulty data. It would have been nice if you asked for public comments before you changed it.

Hello, I am re-developing the property @ 3000 South Walnut. The location is where the former Southern Winds Hotel and Roosters club were located. The property at the beginning a workout facility and a chiropractors office. AS you pull out from the property and are going to turn left (North) and cross traffic, there are two trees located to the north on the side of the road. When cars are coming South and I am turning to the North, it is difficult to see whats coming and that is where the speed limit changes from 30 to 40mph, which is the place many seems to start speeding up. We will have more traffic than ever entering and leaving the property right from the beginning and even more as the property continues to be redeveloped overtime after the initial building and business's are active. A stop light right around there of course would be superb for the property but probably could never happen due to the traffic that occur that comes over the hill when people are traveling South down South Walnut. With that in mind I was hoping the two large trees could be taken down so it is much safer at that point because of the visibility that would open up. One tree is directly in from of the property and the other is directly in front on an older apartment complex that has around 10 apartments in it, it looks like. Would this be possible? Or maybe we could plant a couple new tress which would be much smaller and take several years to grow out? Of course that problem would show up again several years from now but it would take care of it presently for sevevral years. I am just worried about such a great new area being redeveloped for the area and future to have potential traffic issues with people being able to see when pulling out of the property. Please trim back tree/shrub growth on the east side of N. Walnut St. just north of the visitors center, just north of the entry/exit to Blue Ridge neighborhood. It's very difficult to see cars traveling south on N. Walnut as you exit the neighborhood. Dangerous in many cases as drivers are traveling well over the speed limit on the newly paved road. With the closure of Tapp Road intersection due to I-69 construction, a lot of traffic has been diverted on to the Tapp and Rockport Road intersection. Due to this there is a severe need for a traffic light at this intersection since now in the morning rush hour there is a long traffic backup on Rockport road towards coming into the city at the Tapp intersection. It would help if there was a four way traffic light added on this street so that it would help with the traffic pattern. -Concerned Citizen

It is increasingly difficult to exit the Blue Ridge neighborhood at the main entrance/exit at North Walnut. Traffic has increased and is going at a dangerous speed on North Walnut.

Recurring traffic congestion when west-bound volume increases (e.g. rush hour). Congestion backs up as far east as the railroad tracks and prevents traffic from reaching destinations between the rail road tracks and up to and including the first traffic light west of the SR-37 south-bound ramps. Potentially, the timing of the traffic lights at and west of the SR-37 south-bound ramps do not allow sufficient throughput to prevent the congestion. Requesting gathering of traffic data to determine if a temporary (i.e. during rush hour) timing change should be made to alleviate the congestion during recurring (and therefore predictable) times of the day.

Spot lights are poorly timed going both east away from Curry Pike along Third St and mostly west toward Curry Pike. Please fix and make traffic flow more easily along Third St, especially going west. And also especially at Third and Curry going east after 4 p.m.
